Fire Safety Technician

To strengthen our service team, we are looking for a full-time colleague Fire Safety Technician. Do you enjoy working independently at varied locations and making an important contribution to safety within the industrial and maritime sector at a company with a genuine Rotterdam mentality? With your own van full of safety equipment, you perform maintenance at various locations, from (inland) ships to industrial plants and/or at schools, stores and other businesses. In consultation with our service coordinator, you will maintain direct contact with our customers and clients regarding the approach and progress of the work to be carried out.

You will ensure that your van (and you) looks presentable and is equipped with all the tools to carry out the necessary work on site. Your own workshop on wheels! You will also provide feedback to the organisation in the weekly meeting to improve and expand our (service) activities. At the end of the week, we chat with the whole team in our very own bar!

What will you be doing?

  • On a daily basis, you will carry out the inspection and maintenance of various safety equipment (fire extinguishers, breathing apparatus, emergency and escape route lighting, etc.);
  • If necessary, you replace parts on site that you have with you in your van;
  • If there is a malfunction, you will go on site to resolve it so that our customer can continue safely;
  • During and after each visit, you will make a service report of the work carried out in our digital system via your own PDA;
  • From our workshop in Rotterdam, you will prepare the work by bringing the right tools to the various locations you will be visiting that day or week.

What do we ask of you?

  • An intermediate vocational (MBO) professional and intellectual level;
  • Commitment to service and customer-oriented work;
  • A proactive attitude and good communication skills;
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently;
  • And you are accurate and stress resistant;
  • In possession of the following certificates (or willingness to obtain them):
    • SCC basic
    • REOB certificate
    • (Extra) professional diplomas

What do we have to offer?

  • Full-time employment of 40 hours;
  • A salary, depending on your experience, of €2,800 – €3,400 gross per month

  • Possibility of advancement to the position of Senior Technician after a minimum of 5 years’ experience + professional diploma of specialism (gas detection, BMI, fire extinguishing system, breathing air, etc.) with a corresponding (higher) salary.
