Port security officer
Are you a qualified security officer 2 and looking for a varied and responsible job in the Zuid-Holland region? We are looking for security officers who will be our organisation’s calling card and guard safety on industrial sites.
You will work as a Port Safety Officer in the Rotterdam Botlek area. You will be the first point of contact for staff and visitors and will be responsible for access control and registrations. You will supervise the site and keep a balance between safety and hospitality. You create your own monitoring routines and identify deviant behaviour.
Solution-oriented thinking is your second nature and you take on your responsibilities when the situation calls for it. With your alertness, you make a difference!
We are looking for salaried employees for this position.
What will you be doing?
- Welcoming, registering and speaking to visitors and staff;
- Creating and issuing access cards;
- Answering the phone;
- Operating barriers and turnstiles;
- Referring and registering visitors to the appropriate contacts or work location on site;
- Key and parking management;
- Acting on and recording incidents, deviations or calamities;
- Preventive monitoring rounds;
- Surveillance round and fire closing rounds through the office premises;
- Monitoring the general order and cleanliness of the working environment.
What do we ask of you?
- You hold a Security officer level 2 diploma (hard requirement);
- You have a command of the Dutch and English languages;
- You know what to do in case of emergencies;
- You are presentable, friendly and have intrinsic security knowledge;
- You are attentive, stress resistant and punctual;
- You have no objection to working continuous shifts;
- You are computer literate (you work with automated access control systems) and know how to perform the associated administrative tasks;
- You have a driving licence B;
- You have the necessary certificates or are willing to obtain them: ISPS, SCC basic, first aid + AED and/or ERO.
